I was in Cassis the other early morning and just stopped for a few moments to just listen to the sounds of the town getting ready for its day. The fisherman were coming in with their catch, and the locals were all discussing which fish to buy for their evening meal. The trucks were rolling in with supplies for local restaurants, tourists were planning their morning…the cafe guests were a buzz over their cappuccino, the church bells were ringing, seagulls were announcing their presence…and a musician was gently playing the flute to the rise of the morning sun.
On the other hand, I arrived in Nice yesterday to hear the local sounds of police sirens, honking horns, motorcycles racing thru the streets, the French words spoken in their loudest form….and
